ANNA WEIH - Undergraduate Communication Studies Student

Anna is a senior at Iowa State University (ISU) and will graduate in 2021 with a degree in Communications and a minor in Public Relations. Throughout her time at Iowa State, she has been involved in several clubs including Delta Zeta Sorority, St. Jude Up ’til Dawn, ISU Dance Marathon, Ivy Sales Club, Iowa State Spirit Squad as a Dance Team member, and a member of Cardinal Court. Anna is passionate about all things health and wellness, including nutrition, fitness, and mind + body connection. She hopes to someday share her passion with others through social media and content creation.

 

KENDRA ODLAND - Undergraduate RN-BSN Student

Kendra is a graduating senior of Spring 2020 at Iowa State University (ISU) obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Nursing.  She has acquired her Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from DMACC and has obtained her Registered Nurse (RN) license. Kendra has worked in healthcare since 2011 starting as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in a Long-Term Care (LTC) facility.  Due to a school project relating to community health Kendra noticed a need for a health care professional at the Ankeny YMCA and decided to assist with their cardiac fitness program.  For the past seven years, Kendra has worked at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines on the cardiac unit.  This semester Kendra is excited to be doing a capstone project that works with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).  She is also working on a project with Dr. Rafferty that addresses stigma and bias towards patients with Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Once Kendra graduates, she plans to get married and move to Sheboygan, WI where she hopes to find work as an RN. 

HALEY BARTH - Undergraduate Nutritional Science Student

Haley is a Senior at Iowa State University (ISU) with a major in Nutritional Science. Throughout her time at Iowa State she has been involved in various clubs and organizations involving health, nutrition, and philanthropy. One of these includes being an active member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority, which raises money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Last fall, she had the privilege visiting the hospital headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee. This grew her passion for nutrition and how it plays a role in all aspects of health, and she would love to work for St. Jude in the future. She was also a member of Circle of Sisterhood 2019 team. This organization raises awareness for women and children’s education around the world, another area that she is very passionate about. Other interests of hers include painting, drawing, photography and music. Upon finishing her Bachelor of Science in May, she hopes to pursue a career in Pharmaceutical Sales and get her master’s degree in Dietetics.
